I see clients who live in and around the London area. I am able to travel further. However, this will incur travel time and expenses. Please contact me to discuss travel costs. I will see the client in the comfort of their own home. As the emphasis is on participation in life, we may meet in other settings so that the client gets the most realistic experience out of their therapy sessions. I can also see people in nursing homes, day centres or hospitals.
I work primarily with people with Traumatic Brain Injury, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and stammering.
This depends on whether the session is for an assessment or therapy, if a written report is required, and the travel time and travel costs involved. There will also be costs relating to administration, record keeping, preparation of therapy materials, goal setting and liaison with other professionals. I will always advise of the cost before the first session and any further sessions.
I work in and around London and the surrounding counties. I am able to travel further; however, this will impact costs for travel time.
This depends on the medical and speech and language therapy diagnosis. After an assessment, we will talk about therapy recommendations. I will provide a full breakdown of the costs associated with my recommendations.
I value working with a client’s family and friends. I am used to and welcome working with other professionals, such as case managers, allied health professionals (e.g. physiotherapists, occupation therapists, clinical psychologists, counsellors), consultants, GPs, support workers, solicitors and deputies etc.
I welcome a telephone call or email to discuss your, your relative or friend's, or client's speech therapy needs.
I am experienced at working within a litigation framework. I use a range of standardised assessments to assess accurately a client's speech, language and communication strengths and challenges. I write comprehensive reports, which detail clearly the client's needs, recommendations and the estimated associated costs.
I am effective at working independently. I value working as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and with rehab assistants and support workers. I am adept at supporting clients to identify meaningful therapy goals. I ensure goals are reviewed regularly, to support the client's awareness of achievements and so that fund holders are assured of the effectiveness of input and the direction of future therapy.
Face to face sessions are the most useful and effective way for me and a client to build a relationship and work effectively together. I am able to offer telehealth sessions. However, face to face initial and some subsequent sessions is recommended.
LSVT LOUD is an effective voice treatment programme for clients with Parkinson's disease, MS and stroke. It is an intensive approach delivered in a total of 16 sessions, with 4 consecutive sessions a week over a 30 day period, with daily home practice and carry over tasks bolted on to truly exercise the speech production system and instill lasting effects. I am a certified LSVT LOUD clinician.
